Description
"High Water of 1923, looking northeasterly from margin of present High School lot. Shows Kennebec having overflowed West Front Street. The freshet of 1901 water was high enough to completely hide iron fence which is not quite covered in this picture. ~ Roland T. Patten, Custodian of Historical Views, 1929"
