Frothingham bed, Thomaston, 1797


This bed was made for General Henry Knox by Benjamin Frothingham of Charlestown, Massachusetts, who had served under Knox in the American Revolution.

The bed was among the furnishings Knox brought to Montpelier, his mansion in Thomaston.
