Description
From the turn of the century to the 1830s, young women favored delicate, white cotton muslin, likely in reaction to heavier, boned brocade fashion of the previous generation. The sloping shoulders, narrow waist, and short, gigot-like (puffed) sleeves are all emblematic of feminine fashion trends specific to the decade.
The removable pelerine (small cape) completes this two-piece dress.
