Pere Pole, an Abenaki from the Androscoggin River region, provided descriptions of local rivers within the Pejepscot Land Grant as part of a court case brought against the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The Pejepscot Company was also known as the Proprietors of the Township of Brunswick or the Pejepscot Proprietors.
