Description

This bandstand was built in 1930 by the Monson Band under the direction of Frank Bray with lumber donated by local resident George Pullen and other towns people who donated time, labor and other materials. The bandstand was located on a lot just beyond Main Street near Lake Hebron. Band concerts were held every Thursday night during the summer by the local Monson musicians.

On June 21st, 1944 the bandstand was moved in front of the Monson Academy building. After the Academy was demolished the bandstand was relocated to the former Academy site where it stands today (2013) as occasional concerts continue to be performed in this beautiful old bandstand.
