Description

Scarborough Downs was built in 73 days over the years 1948-1949 on former marshland. The track was initially built for thoroughbred horse races, but harness racing also began at the track in the 1960s.

The caption reads, "Greetings from Scarborough Downs, Maine."

The Tichnor Brothers printing company published this type of postcard circa 1938.
