Description

Glen Cove in Rockport, situated along Route 1 between Rockland and Camden, has been the site of numerous lodging facilities over time. This postcard advertises modern units overlooking Penobscot Bay. Humphrey’s Motor Court, opened by Bertha and Everett Humphrey, operated at Glen Cove from the 1930s until 1970, offering a guest house and cottages available from May to October.

The caption reads, "Glen Cove Motor Court, On U.S. Route 1, midway between Rockland and Camden, Maine."

The Tichnor Brothers printing company published this type of postcard circa 1938.
