Description
Pictured at the bakery in Lubec in about 1908 are, from left, George Tweedy Yorke (b. 1862), his daughter Ethel Beatrice Yorke (1897-1989), his wife Jessie Catherine Leeman Yorke (1867-1949), and Margaret "Maggie" Yorke Cheney (1891-1989), the youngest of several daughters from widower George’s first marriage to Ella Benton Yorke. The woman at the right is unidentified.
George, Jessie, Margaret, and Ethel were Canadians who immigrated to Lubec in about 1904 from St. Stephen, New Brunswick.
George Yorke owned and operated the bakery.
