Description

When Miss Arra Pike died in Waterville, May 20, 1929, she left in her will $10,000 to Good Will-Hinckley in order to build a cottage on the boys' farm, and an additional $60,000 for the endowed support of those who would live in it. James Tuttle, the superintendent of maintenance, began work on the cottage in April 1935 and completed it that October. The dedication of Pike Cottage took place October 13, 1935 in Prescott Hall at Good Will. More than 600 people were in attendance, making making this one of the largest dedications in the history of Good Will.
