Description

Restaurant ruins in downtown Old Orchard Beach, taken on October 4, 1948 after the damage from the fire the day before. The entire block of the amusement park, Palace Playland, was destroyed. The famous wooden roller coaster, the Old Mill ride, two game concessions, two summer cottages, and two bathhouses were burned.
