Enoch Preble, Portland, ca. 1842

Description

Enoch Preble (1763-1842) was a renowned ship captain and president of the Portland Marine Society from 1810 to 1842 as well as serving on other boards and groups in the community.

His brother, Edward Preble (1761-1807) fought in the Barbary Wars.
