Description
Willis A. Ricker of Castine published his "Salute to Castine, March, Two-Step" in 1896.
The cover of the sheet music includes a dedication "To the Officers of U.S.S. Castine" and an image of the ship, a gunboat that was built by Bath Iron Works and launched in 1892.
Ricker also wrote "Pentagoet Waltz," and "Elite Two-Step." The first page of "Pentagoet" is on the back of the "Castine" sheet music.
Ricker, who was born in 1878, worked in a music store in Castine.
