Description

This house was built at 26 South Street, Biddeford, in 1810 by Joseph Dearborn. It was later occupied by Dr. Alvan Bacon and then by Dr. Frank Warren. The great copper beach tree in front of the house was planted by a member of the Bacon family in about 1875.

The tree had been designated as one of the "specimen" trees of Maine, but was destroyed by a storm in the early 1990s.
