Description
Thornton Academy Football Team in 1894. The team players from left to right in the front row seated are Otis Wakefield, Arthur Fairfield, Charles Shannon and Lin Berry. The middle row, left to right are Frank Hodgdon, Clint Goodwin, Louis Hills, George Preble, Orin Hatch, Clarence Goldthwaite, and Henry Boyker. The back row players, left to right. are Ned Perry, Fred Fogg, Walter Came and Martin Foss. The item of football gear worn around their necks in the picture are nose guards.
