Description
Incorporated in 1901, the Lubec Sardine Company operated three factories, A, B and C, employing over 400 people.
Factory B burned in 1908 and was quickly rebuilt with fireproof materials, including cement with a steel roof.
Factory B continued to operate under various owners until 2001 when Conners Bros. closed it, the last sardine factory in Lubec.
