Description
The Battle-Axe Sardine Factory, located in a gully north of the old store in North Lubec, on the east side, was owned by Lawrence Brothers doing business as North Lubec Manufacturing and Canning Co., either plant #1 or #2. Most plants bore local nicknames; legend suggests that two women employees had perpetrated a fight here.
