This photograph of Islesboro's first ferry, the Governor Brann, shows the boat pulling into the island's ferry terminal. The Governor Brann was captained by Eben Babbidge and later Stanwood Hinkley. It cost $1.00 to bring a car across and $0.25 for a passenger. The Governor Brann was the island's ferry from 1936 to 1959, when it was replaced by the Governor Muskie.
