Description
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote to Dr. William Wood, 136 Free St., Portland, to thank him for a basket of grapes, grown by Wood.
Longfellow wrote, "I envy the man who has the happiness and the courage to raise his own grapes!"
Longfellow, who grew up in Portland, lived in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and was a well-known poet.
