Description
The nearly finished Mt. Desert High School in Northeast Harbor. Built to replace the aging Gilman High School, and to house all students from grades 7 through 12. In 1968, Mt. Desert Island constructed a regional school for all the Island's high school students. The last class from Mt. Desert High School graduated in June of 1968, and in September of 1968 Mt. Desert Elementary School opened, closing two smaller elementary schools.
