Description
The coat of arms for the Barrell family of York.
Nathaniel Barrell (1732-1831) was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and married Sally Sayward (1737-1805) of York.
He served as a Lieutenant in General Wolfe's army at Quebec. Although he was a passive loyalist during the American Revolution, Nathaniel served as a delegate to the Massachusetts Constitutional Convention, voting to ratify the U.S. Constitution in 1787.
