Description

This two dollar bank note was issued by the Central Bank in Gray in 1857. It was dated September 8, 1857 and signed by N. S. Smith, president. Wellstood, Hay & Whiting, of New York, were the printers.

The currency came from the personal collection of Henry Temple and his wife Octavia Thurston of Bangor, before relocating to St. Paul, Minnesota.
