Valentine House, Westbrook, ca. 1892

Description

This house on Saco Street in Westbrook was built in 1810 by Major William Valentine, a blacksmith. He started a nail factory at the Main Street end of the Brown Street bridge and also ran a grocery store.

Valentine's son Leander was Westbrook's first mayor.
