Description
Rene Boisvert started his career at the Goodall Mills in Sanford as a loom fixer. He went on to work at the Pepperell Manufacturing Company for many years and was promoted to superintendent of the blanket manufacturing in 1966.
Following his work at the Pepperell Manufacturing Company, he founded Biddeford Textile Company on Nov. 22, 1971, under the auspices of Northern Electric Company, which ran under the Sunbeam Corporation Parent Company.
In 1997 Boisvert incorporated the Biddeford Textile Company as an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) company. Boisvert also served for many years as a Textile Consultant for Sunbeam/ Northern Electric Company's textile sister plants in England, Canada, and Mexico. He retired in 2001.
Rene served in the 101 Airborne Division of the United States Army and completed 17 jumps as a paratrooper.
