Mercy School of Nursing students, Portland, 1977

On January 6, 1920, the Training School for Nurses of the Queen's Hospital (later Mercy) opened its doors. The program was created to keep up with demand for qualified nurses in the state. Students lived on the hospital grounds and were often involved with student committees and groups.
