Description
Clarence Glidden is believed to be the teamster with his team of four white-faced oxen and steers stopped in front of Charles Achorn's barn at 89 Main Street.
Achorn Bros. store used the barn across the driveway from the house to store bags of grain. Note a dark rectangle on the upper left side of the barn near the eaves; it contained pigeon holes to allow them access to the barn. The pigeons cleaned up the spilled grain and helped to keep down the rat population.
