Description
This leather fire bucket kept sand handy, in case it was needed to supress a fire in the home. Dated 1793, it is purported to be one of a pair listed on the 1795 inventory of items Henry Knox brought from Philadelphia to his new home in Thomaston, which he named Montpelier.
