Description

The Washington Hotel was one of many hotels that served the tourist community in Wells Beach throughout the 20th century. It appeared in hotel listings as early as 1891 and was built and managed by Aaron Perkins under the name of the Minnetonka Hotel. Changes in ownership of the hotel over the years included changes in name, one of which was the Washington Hotel. The hotel offered Sunday shore dinners and rooms by the day or week in close proximity to Wells Beach.

The caption reads, "Washington Hotel, Wells Beach, Maine."

The Tichnor Brothers printing company published this type of postcard circa 1938.
