Description
An ambrotype of Hannibal Hamlin (1809-1891), a native of Paris Hill, who practiced law in Hampden, served as governor of Maine and in the U.S. Senate and was chosen in 1860 as Abraham Lincoln's first vice president.
The image is a hand-colored ambrotype that was made from a lithograph image of Hamlin.
