Description

The J.K. Hayes Socony Service Station is located on the corner of Union and Water Streets. The building eventually became the home of Slates Bakery. Lord Auto & Electric Company, located behind the Socony Service Station, sold Durand and Star cars in the early 1930s. That building was razed to make a second entrance into the Hallowell Municipal Parking Lot.
