Description
George Washington Pierce of Baldwin, on his way west to explore possible locations for his law practice, spent nearly a month in Washington, D.C.
He wrote to his parents about the various Washington personalities he met, including John Randolph, George McDuffie, Peleg Sprague, James Anderson, and Vice President John C. Calhoun, among others.
Pierce also wrote of his travel plans to the west.
He dated the letter January 7, 1828, but it was actually written in 1829.
