Capt. Henry Mowat was commanded to bombard ports, shipping and towns along the coast of Massachusetts including the coast of Maine which was then part of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts during the American Revolution. This communication describes Captain Mowat's mission, including the bombardment of Falmouth (now Portland).
