Description
Miriam MacMillan was a pioneer in recording Inuit songs and conversation for the first time. Here she is using wire-recording equipment to capture the sounds of Inuktitut and play them back to a delighted audience. She and her husband, scientist and Arctic explorer Donald MacMillan, made many trips aboard the schooner he designed and captained. On the Bowdoin, he charted many of the areas of Labrador and Greenland.
