The "Mineola" leaving the Jameson & Wotton Wharf, Friendship, ca. 1910Contributed by Friendship Museum
This panoramic photograph shows the steamboat Mineola heading east toward the gut between Friendship Long Island and Garrison Island. It is heading away from the Jameson & Wotton Wharf, where it is a favorite among local residents.
Given the poor roads to Friendship, steamboats provided a safe and efficient way to carry passengers and goods to and from the town.
