Philemon Bradford, 30th Maine

Philemon A. Bradford (1816-1864) of Turner enlisted as a private in Co. A, Maine 30th Infantry in 1863 when he was 44 years old.

He was a descendant of Governor William Bradford of the Plymouth Colony. Bradford and his wife, Lydia J. Bradford, had four children, Harriett, Mary, Philip, and Edmund.

Bradford died of disease in a Brattleboro, Vermont, Army Hospital in August 1864.
