Disciples of Christ Church, Lubec, ca. 1900

Contributed by Lubec Historical Society

Description

The interior of this church on Main Street, also known as the Christian Temple, features wall and hanging oil lamps plus an unusual lamp above the organ. To the right of the lamp above the organ is a conduit leading to an electric lamp. A globe covers what appears to be an electric ceiling lamp at the top edge of the photo.

The flag appears to bear only 45 stars, which would denote the version of the American flag that was in use from early 1896 until July 4, 1908. The woodwork shown here appears much the same in 2013.
