Description
Henry A. Clark's General Store at Five Points, Biddeford, ca. 1900. The delivery cart and horse posed in front says "Fine Bread." It (the general store) held a waiting room for Biddeford and Saco Electric Railroad, and was the southern-most stop for the trolley. The signs on the building front are for Oxolo, B.&S. ER.R. Waiting Room, and Grain. Clark (1848-1923) immigrated to the U.S. from England in 1871 to work in the Biddeford mills, which he did for many years until a back injury forced him to find a new profession. He then opened his store at Five Points, which he ran for over 25 years.
