Description
Dr. Kenneth E. Dore (1908-2000) worked as the local doctor for communities in and around Fryeburg, Maine beween 1938 and 1974. His very first patient was a student who boarded at Fryeburg Academy. The student complained about having a headache, was charged a dollar, but didn't have any money. For most of his life, Dr. Dore worked hard despite an ailing heart. In remembering his vocation, on more than one occasion he explained, "I never had patients; I only had friends."
