Quilted bonnet trimmed with pink cotton, Eastport, ca. 1810

Description

A chartreuse or lime green quilted bonnet trimmed in glazed pink cotton. Its was a companion piece to a matching chartreuse cape, both associated with the Leavitt family of Eastport. The bonnet's front opening is trimmed in lace, perhaps a later 19th century addition.
