Description

Nursing students pose on the lawn of Eastern Maine General Hospital in 1898 or 1899. Back row, from left, are Roberta Logie, school Superintendent Ellen F. Paine, Dr. William C. Mason, Carrie W. Files, and E. E. McMullen. Front row, from left, are Margaret Davis, student Files, and Mabel Hammons.

The nurses school opened in Stern House in 1892. The hospital purchased the house in 1894.
