Description

This is a photograph of the Northeast Harbor section of a map created by James and John Peters in 1807. The map in its entirety depicts the eastern half of Mount Desert Island. The key on the map indicates, "A Plan of the French grant this shows to the old settlers lots copyed from a Plan taken by John Peters, Esq., the remainder of the Survey taken by me James Peters, Blue Hill, November, 1807". One of the lots described and drawn on this old map is Lot 67, the 105 acre lot acquired by William Roberts, Jr. and John Savage, II.
