Cantor Moshe Kusevitsky (1899-1966), a native of Lithuania, was one of the best known cantors in the 20th century.

He visited Congregation Shaarey Tphiloh in 1954 for the Orthodox congregation's Golden Jubilee celebration at its synagogue at 151 Newbury Street in Portland.

Kusevitsky, a tenor, gave a concert on June 14, 1954, accompanied by Jack Barras on the piano.
