'Pathfinder,' Old Orchard Beach, 1929

Description

The Pathfinder is being fueled on July 7, 1929.at Old Orchard Beach before its successful transatlanic flight.

The crew of the Green Flash, which had crashed at the beach before it could attempt a transatlantic race with the French plane Yellow Bird,, procured this plane 25 days later and completed the flight.

The pilot was Roger Q. Williams and the navigator was Lewis Yancey.

The Pathfinder was the last plane to make a successful transatlantic flight from Old Orchard Beach.
