Description

Sarah Lovejoy was born in Sidney, Maine, around 1825. She was the daughter of Jacob Lovejoy, a fifer during the War of 1812, and a violinist and dancing master by trade.

In 1847, Sarah married Edwin Damon and had nine children. She later married Jonathan Adams. Sarah was known as "Aunt Sarah" to the local people, and worked as an herb doctor and midwife. She died in 1904 in Corinna.
