Description

Originally owned by Susan Cornelia Warren (1825-1925) wife of Samuel Dennis Warren, this building served as the offices and the original library of the S.D. Warren Company in 1876.

Workers and their families could use the library.

Cornelia Warren was known for her philanthropy in education. When she died she willed her fortune to establish a larger library for the city.
