My WWII Navy Adventure starts at age 13

A story by I. Robert Miller from 1936 to 1947

Me then and Now

My 99th birthday was Dec. 7th, 2022. For the first 40 years, I couldn't talk about it, now you can't stop me.

My father was in WWI, my sister was a WAC air controller at the Chanute Army air field in Illinois, my son was on a Navy submarine out of Connecticut, and I was interviewed by reporter Benn Barr of the Lincoln Newspaper, where my story was published in 6 parts.

My story has been recorded in the WW2 museum in Louisiana and Texas and this year, they came to Millinocket Maine from Canada to record my life in the Navy.
