Charles "Chuck" Tsomides was born in Biddeford in 1953, the youngest son of Efthomeo Tsomides and Anastasia Hadiaris. His Greek paternal grandfather lived in Turkey, prior to his immigration to Biddeford. Efthomeo worked as a tailor, as did his son, Chuck's father, at he American Tailor Company in Biddeford. Chuck, a lifelong resident of Saco, retired after 35 years of service at the Webber Hospital, now Southern Maine Medical Center. In his interview, he spoke of his learning disabilities and how that affected the choices in his life. An avid sports fan, he received awards for his local community support and dedication to Thornton Academy athletics.
