Description

William B. Adams, a fifer in Co. K of the 5th Infantry Regiment, encamped near Alexandria, Virginia, wrote to his sister Dorothy, asking her to find a book of fife music for him as he lost his "when we went to Bulls Run."

He sought music for the surgeon's call, breakfast call, reveille, dinner call, and marches such as "Hail to the Chief."
