Description

William B. Adams (1842-1922) of Casco, who enlisted in Co. K of the 5th Maine Infantry at age 18, wrote to his sister Mary about the company's daily routines of drill, dress parades, and guard duty in northern Virginia.

He also discussed the various rumors about where the company would be sent and if they would be going home.
