Description
The "Westport Ferry" is shown with a dump truck coming from Westport across the Back River to Wiscasset. The ferry was a scow that operated for over 50 years transporting residents, summer visitors, vehicles, and freight on and off the island.
Westport Island's ferry landing is in the background.
Visible along the Westport shoreline is a boat and a small camp where Red Bradley, a sardine fisherman, lived; as well as the house of the ferry operator, Luther Cromwell.
