Description
This white and blue silk ribbon was provided to members of Topsham's Androscoggin No. 2 hand engine muster team at the New England League Firemen's Muster held at Hampton, New Hampshire, on August 29, 1965. Clarence "Bud" Colby served as the team foreman for the large muster, which drew multiple regional teams.
"Andy" was the nickname for the Androscoggin, a Class B hand-pumper engine built by Hunneman and delivered to the Topsham Fire Department in 1850. It was used in active service until 1919. After that and until the 1970s, it was used only in muster competitions. It now sits on display at the Topsham Fire Department on Main Street.
